With growing technology enablement, organizations are often looking at integrating multiple business functions and processes within the organization. In specific context to Finance and Accounting, most ERP packages are designed and developed in the form of modules to address key processes - be it “Order-to-Cash” or “Procure-to-Pay”. The standard nature of ERP has resulted in standard purchasing frameworks that are not able to serve all needs and requirements of the organizations. There are multiple activities – both mundane and complex - that are outside the purview of the ERP because of the way the ERP is structured and the dependencies that other ERP modules may have on it.

For a decade now, Purchasing Cards (P-Cards) have brought enormous financial and ease-of-use benefits to organizations world-wide. However, organizations are often exploring ways to integrate the commercial card with Procure-to-Pay applications. David is a Lead Consultant for Technology services in WNS with over 10 years experience in technical implementations of P-Card applications and over 15 years of Technical and Functional SAP experience. In his current role, David leads all global implementations, pre-sales, and support activities for Xponential - the SAP-based P-Card program management technology offering from WNS. Prior to joining WNS, David worked in the telecommunications industry for a Fortune 50 company as a Senior Consultant and IT Manager. David has a Bachelor’s degree in Computing Science and Mathematics.

 JoAleen L Ainslie, CPCP, City of Tacoma

JoAleen Ainslie is a member of the NAPCP for the last 11 years. She earned her CPCP in 2007. She is currently serving as a member of the NAPCP Government, K-12 Advisory Board and the Washington State Purchase Card Advisory Group. Her career has spanned 37 years. This includes 10 years in private industry, five as a working partner in credit and collections firm and five at a private business as the manager of student accounts and instructor; 21 years in the K-12 environment, 10 of which were spent building its PCard program and teaching evening professional development /business services division courses. As of March 2014, she is the procurement card program manager for City of Tacoma in the procurement and payables division. She has served as both presenter and facilitator at supplier outreach sessions, NAPCP conferences, state PCard forums, the 2013 NIGP Forum and co-presented with VISA at the 2013 the National League of Cities national conference.

 Linda Harrower, Purchasing Liaison Manager, University of Cape Town, South Africa

Linda Harrower has been a member of NAPCP since 2002 when she presented at an NAPCP conference in the US, and was also a presenter and facilitator at the London event in 2013. She has presented at several Smart Procurement workshops in South Africa. NAPCP has been a valuable source of information given that Pcard adoption has only recently started gaining traction in South Africa. She has had a diverse career and believes that all experience is valuable. She has a Bachelor of Science degree and in addition to teaching and working in various laboratory environments, spent two years in a finance role in a small company with some studies towards a BCom. She has been involved with SAP procurement since implementation at UCT in 1997 and implemented the University’s Pcard program in 2002 in conjunction with the first version of Xponential (called SmartLink). She was responsible for the upgrade to Xponential in February 2013.
