 | “Defining the CFO Agenda for 2010” | | | | | | | | | System Requirement:IE6 and above/Firefox 1.2 and above/Flash plugin 8 and above
| | | | | | Synopsis: |
| | The past two years have been difficult ones for CFO’s and their finance and accounting (F&A) organizations. During recessionary economic times Finance and Accounting organizations are corporate watchdogs at the forefront of aggressive efforts to reduce operating costs and closely monitor and screen any new capital investments. At the same time Finance and Accounting organizations themselves must share the burden of cost reductions while still delivering critical operational services to business units and executive management. As economic conditions improve organizations are beginning to refocus both their strategic and operational agendas.
CFO’s and their organizations have limited resources available to meet the competing goals of supporting strategic growth initiatives while continuing to drive down Finance and Accounting operating costs and clearly must continue to do more with less. There are several tactics to achieve this, including improving business process performance, introducing greater automation and self-service in Finance and Accounting functions, and overhauling Finance and Accounting service delivery models through the greater use of shared services and outsourcing.
This webcast will address these points and present the findings from a recently completed market study on current and future Finance and Accounting and FAO market trends. This market study was conducted by EquaSiis, and EquaTerra company, and sponsored by WNS, a leading FAO service provider. Topics addressed in this webcast will include:
- Indentifying and Analyzing the Top CFO’s Issues for 2010
- Defining Key Strategies to Address CFO and Finance and Accounting Challenges and Opportunities
- Usage and Satisfaction with Finance and Accounting Shared Services and FAO to Support Finance and Accounting Strategies
- Defining a Strategic Agenda for FAO
| | | | | | Presenter: | | | | Avon and WNS Global Services |
| | | | | | Stan Lepeak, EquaTerra's managing director of global research, will moderate a round table discussion on these and related topics and will be joined by:
- Bob Cecil, Executive Director, Business & Financial Processes Advisory, EquaTerra

 | “Driving Higher Profitability Through Efficient Revenue Recovery” | | | | | | | | | System Requirement:IE6 and above/Firefox 1.2 and above/Flash plugin 8 and above
| | | | | | Synopsis: |
| | Brian Pearce, the International Air Transport Association’s noted economist, said that the aviation industry was facing its biggest crisis in 30 years. Soaring oil prices and a collapse in consumer confidence has left airlines in a worse state than after September 11.
It is estimated that a one dollar increase in oil prices adds $1.6 billion to the industry’s operating costs. Accentuating this crisis is the slump in consumer confidence; for the first time in a number of years the number of business class passengers across the industry has dropped. In such an environment, optimizing revenue by increasing efficiencies in processes such as revenue management becomes an even greater priority. It is estimated that revenue leakage across the airline industry could be somewhere between 2% and 5% of revenues, resulting in a loss of between $5 billion and $16 billion per annum.
This webinar will share insights from leading airlines that are optimizing their revenue management processes and developing new strategies for plugging revenue leakage. | | | | | | Presenter: | | | | Michelle Scarsbrook Senior Vice President, Revenue Recovery, WNS Global Services |
| | | | | | Michelle heads the Revenue Recovery Group within WNS’ Travel and Leisure Services team. Michelle has over 15 years experience in the airline industry, specializing in revenue recovery and passenger revenue accounting arena during the last 10 years. Prior to joining WNS, Michelle was responsible for establishing the Airline Revenue Recovery division at PRG-Schultz International, a leading auditing company, and for defining and implementing British Airways’ Revenue Recovery strategy. Michelle is a fellow of the Association of Certified Accountants and holds a MBA from Lancaster University.

■ When a competitor drops his price, should I react? If yes, by how much? What is the optimal price-volume tradeoff?
■ What are the tradeoffs that consumers make in deciding package size and price per ounce? How is that tradeoff impacted by where the product or service is consumed?
